My baby is snoring

He unfortunately has two parents who are highly prone to constant stuffiness, which he seems to have inherited. So, he's snoring little tiny faint snores right now, and it is extremely cute. I'll post up some more pictures of him soon, I haven't gotten to take a bunch that I want to take yet.

My mom and younger brother and sister came down to visit for a week. It was fabulous having them here. I got more sleep while my mom held the baby, and I got out of the house pretty much every day, and they painted my family room and kitchen for me (a beautiful cheerful blue, which I will post pictures of later). They also mowed my lawn and moved boxes and were all sorts of helpful while they were here, and they took me shopping for some new clothes, so I have clothes that fit again now! It was really nice. I took a break from the internet while they were visiting though, thus why I haven't updated.

Still need to go see a lactation consultant, and possibly the pediatrician (I think baby guy might possibly have thrush, though I think it's getting a bit better, and I wouldn't worry about it at all except he's also had some diarrhea the past couple days that I want to at least call and ask a nurse about). I also need to go shopping. So tomorrow's going to be an out-and-about day (we would've gone out several days ago to take care of all this but our truck keys ended up hitching a ride to Utah in my family's car, and they just arrived back here in the mail today).

We had our 2-year anniversary on Tuesday. My mom watched Aiden for us on Monday night and we went out and got frozen yogurt to celebrate, which was nice. Then on Tuesday, Mike's parents brought us some sushi that we had for dinner, and then we went to sleep early which was quite nice. I'm still trying to decide what I want Mike to get for me for an anniversary present.

Mother's Day is this Sunday. I'm excited for my first Mother's Day as a mom. It should be fun. They're having a brunch in Relief Society which I think is a fabulous idea. I really like our ward so far, they seem really nice, and I think it'll be a lot of fun to go to Enrichment activities. They had a cool one on Tuesday that I didn't go to what with it being our anniversary and all. I think I'll have to recreate it with Mike at home though because it really did sound really fun. It was the book club meeting, and they were going to briefly discuss The Scarlet Pimpernel, and then watch the movie, and make smores in the host's fireplace (we don't have a fireplace, but my in-laws do, so maybe we'll go borrow theirs when we recreate it). I've been dying to re-watch that movie for ages (Sink me! Mike's never seen it!)

Monday is my birthday. I'm turning the ripe old age of 25. I'm pretty excited about it, I love birthdays, and I'm going to be a quarter of a century old, which seems like a pretty significant birthday. I think we'll have a combination birthday/housewarming party next weekend to celebrate. Oh, I'll finally be old enough to rent cars, too, so that's cool, and insurance rates for me should go down a bit. I'm trying to decide what kind of cake to make for myself. I've been eating entirely too much dessert lately, but I honestly don't see much reason to eat very much less dessert for the next week or so. Celebrations call for desserts. Delicious, delicious desserts.

To make up for all the dessert I've been eating, I went on a walk around one of the blocks in our neighborhood today. It really is a very nice neighborhood, and there's a nice sidewalk walking trail that runs along the currently-dry canal that's about half-a-block away. I need to walk earlier in the day though I think. We went out at about noon, and it was crazy hot. It's currently 93 degrees F which I think is rather too hot for walking. If I can get up and ready and dressed early enough though, walking in the mornings should be really nice.

Aiden's been sleeping a little longer at night the past couple of days. Now we just need to figure out how to get him to go back to sleep quickly the couple times a night that he does wake up, and then we should be sitting (or sleeping) pretty. He's getting quite large, and my shoulders are protesting holding him and carrying him around. I got some fabric to make a mei tai (cloth baby carrier) out of, so we'll see if that helps once I get it all done (I have yet to start on it...maybe I'll work on it on Monday as a birthday celebration).
